⁶ Moses told the ·people of Gad [^Lsons/descendants of Gad] and ·Reuben [^Lthe sons/descendants of Reuben], “Shall your brothers go to war while you stay ·behind [^Lhere]? ⁷ ·You will [^LWhy should you…?] discourage the ·Israelites [^Lsons/^Tchildren of Israel] from going over to the land the Lord has given them. ⁸ Your ·ancestors [fathers] did the same thing. I sent them from Kadesh Barnea to look at the land.
